Lucy’s story haunts me as well. Though there is nothing to be done for her now we can take action to improve the lives of captive chimpanzees. Please check out NEAVS and the Fauna Foundation to help and be inspired.

I heard this story for the second time this year about Lucy. Booth times I wept. It got under my skin and now I have to vent some where. I wish this could be made into a Hollywood movie so that the masses could really see what happens when humans intervene in nature’s natural course. I calls us the Hubris Being, bumbling selfishly through life forgetting every action has a good and bad action. We are the Earth Keepers and all we have done is imprisoned what sustains us. This is interesting, especially considering how much I hear that the new generation – Millenials – are such overachievers and do so much. Maybe they’re spreading their time in a lot of places (community service, part-time jobs, clubs, sports, etc.) so there’s less time to spend in the library?
